Amanda Overmyer...
I am starting to really love this girl's voice. It's so unique and possess a quality that is rather classic rock more than current rock. I also love the fact that her voice, as well as, music has sort of a crossover to the blues genre. The tone of her voice is also very "Janis" hence why I love it.
Anyways, recently a friend of mine sent me this video and I just had to post it. She is truly talented and would love to see her do well in the music business. No offense, but if people would rather listen to Miley Cyrus over this, well it just proves how much the music industry has gone to hell.

My Current Playlist
A friend of mine messaged me via Myspace and asked me what my playlist consisted of. The other day, another friend of mine asked me on the phone "What is your playlist" so, I have decided to create an entry listing the songs on my current playlist on my ipod. It updates all of the time, however; this is the current playlist that I have...

Paul Potts
Do you remember Paul Potts? He is an operatic tenor that achieved fame from a reality show in the United Kingdom called "Britains Got Talent". Well, recently my mother purchased his CD "One Chance" and I recently had the chance to listen to it. It is fantastic.
I can't really choose a favorite song, because there are so many great things about all of them. I think the biggest mistake for the album was the fact that most of it is renditions, rather than original music, but Paul truly pulled it off. If I had to choose my favorite song on the CD, it would definitely be his rendition of the REM classic "Everybody Hurts" but decided to do an Italian spin on it called "Ognuno Soffre". Just brilliant and emotionally interesting as the original, making it his own as a result.
On that note, I absolutely love this...
Beautiful.

Kid Rock's "All Summer Long"...
...is an addicting song. Quite possibly one of the most addicting songs of 2008.
It reminds me of a Neo Soul rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama". I love it!

Bohemian Rhapsody by Sarah Afshar
Hey Everyone! How are you doing? I hope you are doing great. I played a show in Atlanta, GA during the jazz festival early last month. This was a few days before I left for Iran. In fact, I wasn't with my band Tempted Dream and had used the club's piano to do this number. I am not a jazz singer, however; I do identify with rock and I also soul, as well as, classical (symphonic rock soul)...more so than anything else.
After singing quite a few jazz songs including a few originals by other people and myself, as well as, covers, I decided to cover Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Bohemian Rhapsody is a multi-genre song that truly was something I wanted to have a little fun with. It is a song that I can connect with, as I really love the meaning, as well as, message behind it.
I didn't know I was being recorded, but a girl who absolutely loved me that night had sent me via email the actual recording. Once she sent me the recording, I checked my email about two days later and I had a lot of emails with a recording in it. I didn't know how they got my email and I found out the owner of the club gave it to him. Although most were of poor quality, there was a guy that sent me a pretty good quality recording. I am actually surprised at how clear it sounds, although it makes me sound a bit pitchy.
I am actually extremely happy because I didn't know I was being recorded at all, so it is kind of nice to know I impressed a few people. I was so tired, that I didn't know if I pulled the song off, however; one thing I did was allow myself to connect with it, as it has always remained a close favorite of mine.
Unfortunately, some of the song was cut off, however; most of the song was recorded. If you want to listen to my rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody simply click here. Thank You!
